Whether it’s trekking up a rugged mountain trail or taking a high-speed lift to the top of a skyscraper, gaining that initial elevation is essential for gathering my bearings and truly understanding the scale of a city. In a place as architectural and sprawling as Dubai, this perspective is transformative; it allows you to see how the intricate veins of the motorways connect the futuristic skyline to the vast, golden desert beyond.
The city offers a staggering array of heights that completely redefine your sense of space. While the view during the day highlights the gleaming glass facades and the turquoise coast, the transition at sunset is where the real magic happens. Watching the city lights flicker to life as the sky turns a dusty pink is an experience that never loses its charm. Whether you are lounging by a sky-high infinity pool, seeking a thrill through an adrenaline-fuelled activity, or enjoying a cocktail at a fine dining restaurant, there is no denying that Dubai is at its most spectacular when viewed from a rooftop.

Located on Level 122 of the Burj Khalifa, this is the world’s second-highest restaurant at 441.3 metres. From the floor-to-ceiling windows, you can see the Dubai Fountain, the World Islands, and the vast desert horizon. It serves a refined French influenced menu for breakfast, high tea, and dinner, with a smart-elegant dress code strictly enforced.
